Workshop Details

Workshop Description:

This workshop introduces the Systems-Centered® approach to group and its method of functional subgrouping. Functional subgrouping enables a group to contain the two sides of every conflict so that differences can be explored and integrated. This weakens the human tendency to avoid, stereotype, convert or scapegoat differences.

Training Objectives:

- To experience a systems-centered approach which enables therapists to understand the dynamics of both individuals and groups from a common (systems) perspective.

- To learn functional subgrouping as a method of conflict resolution.

- To learn the "fork-in-the-road" of choice between explaining conflicts and exploring them.

- To learn how to identify and modify restraining forces that inhibit growth and change.

Application for CEU's have been made for Psychologists, LMFT's, LCSW's and LPC's.
